An early morning blaze on April 10, claimed the Stagecoach Junction restaurant in Glendale, Nevada. This stop about 40 miles north of Las Vegas is the only restaurant in the area. Fire officials said that the blaze was reported at 2:30 AM and volunteer fire units arrived by 3:00 to find the second floor and roof ablaze. Despite four engines and one ladder truck brought in from Las Vegas, the building could not be saved and the fire continued burning until after 9:00 AM.
However, the nearby Sinclair gas station and motel were spared. The husband of a long time worker at the restaurant said that the restaurant may rent and temporarily re-open at Good Eats, in nearby Moapa. Good Eats closed about one year ago.
